Trasformano l’adrenalina in forza comunitaria decisamente coinvolgente, lanciando il loro messaggio di pace.
I Gogol Bordello hanno chiuso il tour estivo a Londra lo scorso 16 luglio 2022, e saranno in tournée sempre a sostegno del nuovo album, SOLIDARITINE prodotto da Walter Schreifels ed Eugene Hütz, questo
autunno a partire dal 20 ottobre a Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania nel Teatro Mr. Smalls. Nell’ultimo concerto con tappa italiana a Palmanova, in FriuliVenezia Giulia, hanno messo in circolo una potente riflessione energetica, diffondendo il concetto che la musica è espressione che unisce e traduce al contempo le istanze di un popolo.
La loro è una risposta non violenta ai venti bellici che soffiano sull’Ucraina. È anche una carezza decisa e sentita tradotta in note, per tutti quei sentimenti repressi che ciascuno si porta dentro in questo preciso momento
storico fatto di sofferenze. E cosa meglio della musica può dare parole a sgomenti che non ne hanno; cosa può restituire calore nella divisione tra fratelli e sorelle russi e ucraini, popoli e convinzioni?
I Gogol Bordello hanno scelto il cielo; la sua forma è quella di un essere umano perfetto, la stessa che ha il cielo e da preziosi artisti quali sono, lo scorso 9 luglio, sul palco di una bellissima Piazza Grande, hanno dato conferma di essere ancora una volta band iconica.
Azalea, organizzatore dell’evento, ha scelto sapientemente di lasciare aprire
il live show ad un gruppo emergente e talentuoso, i Dalyrium Bay, band
folk rock formatasi in Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
La proposta risulta vincente, infatti il gruppo coinvolge e rapisce.
Il genere da loro proposto spazia all’interno di tutti gli stili classici, etnici e
folkloristici (come samba, swing, waltz, mazurka), mescolando i ritmi più
intensi e movimentati con sonorità rock e surf.
I Dalyrium Bay aprendo il concerto dei Gogol Bordello realizzano una
perfetta sincronia musicale, tanto da generare uno tsunami artistico da cui è
affascinante lasciarsi travolgere.
Questo connubio tra una delle band più originali degli ultimi 20 anni e le
promesse future della musica, costruisce per la Città di Palmanova ponti di
fiducia ed è segnale di speranza ed unità da ricercare per ricreare cultura e
dialogo.
La grandezza dei Gogol Bordello risiede qui e nella loro storia: i
membri della band, provenienti da luoghi diversi dell’est europeo, oltre che
dall’Asia, sono segno di una volontà di unione in risposta alla divisione
(Eugene Hütz, voce solista, è ucraino ed è nato a Kiev, mentre Sergej
Rjabcev, violinista e seconda voce del gruppo, è russo ed è nato a Gor’kij).
La band si conosce nelle strade di New York durante gli anni ‘90.
Nel giro di poco affina la sua personale e straordinaria identità sonora.
La formula di punk gitano si presenta al mondo con l’ep “East
Infection”, finché con il primo disco, “Gypsy Punks: Underdog World
Strike”, arriva alla celebrità internazionale.
Da allora i componenti del gruppo, tutti uniti, hanno fatto tanta strada, fino
ad arrivare a cantare e suonare con Madonna e Goran Bregovic, salendo
oggi su un palco, in nome della pace.
Mentre la mano del mondo imbraccia l’arma, la mano dei Gogol
Bordello tocca lo strumento e in concerto, punta al cuore di un pubblico
meraviglioso.
Sembra così di assistere a passaggi di un sogno in cui sentimenti,
suoni, vino, labbra e piaceri, danzano nella naturalezza di corpi che
beccheggiano sull’abisso di un’estate che brucia di fuoco e di amore.
La loro musica fa battere i cuori e le mani ad una frequenza amplificata.
Lo sguardo del violinista Sergej Rjabcev riesce ad espandere la sua
profonda essenza ed energia, affinché possa essere percepita da molto
lontano. Comunica che si può incatenare un uomo, ma non si potrà
mai imbrigliare il suo pensiero e il suo destino. È come un Mago, che a
volte e all’improvviso è trasparente sul palco, ma questo gli permette
che la magia sia creata attraverso il suo violino.
Gli occhi di Eugene Hütz lasciano nitidamente arrivare al pubblico tutte le
emozioni e le sofferenze che vorrebbero palesare, mentre canta osserva il
cielo, con la mano sembra indicare il volo degli uccelli verso Kiev. Questo
grande artista ha una energia che riesce a creare un effetto- onda e causa
impatto in tutti coloro che vengono a contatto con il suo talento.
Il tempo è maturo perché il Mondo ascolti e comprenda la verità scomoda,
la sofferenza del popolo ucraino trascinato in una guerra totale.
Convinti che la conoscenza nasca dall’amore e il tempo che stiamo vivendo
sia sufficiente per farne buon uso, i Gogol Bordello lanciano il loro
messaggio efficace e potente, dando uno stimolo ad unirsi al
“movimento” per uno scopo comune: essere l’arcobaleno che segue la
tempesta. La guerra comunque è a due passi da qui ed è metafora del
conflitto universale tra gli opposti, che governa i processi naturali di un
cambiamento nello spirito di un individuo o di una nazione, nel bene o nel
male.
La band statunitense suona per stimolare i sentimenti di fratellanza, lealtà e
condivisione. Così alla luce dell’invasione russa dell’Ucraina, Les
Claypool di Primus ed Eugene Hütz di Gogol Bordello hanno iniziato a
collaborare ad un rilancio congiunto per raccogliere sostegno per il popolo
ucraino. Lo palesa il brano “Zelensky: The Man With the Iron Balls”, il cui
ricavato della vendita sarà devoluto a Nova Ukraine, un’organizzazione
senza scopo di lucro dedicata a fornire aiuti umanitari al popolo ucraino.
Ogni spettacolo del tour “Solidaritine” sarà a loro dedicato in nome
della battaglia dell‘Ucraina per la democrazia.
Gogol Bordello è dunque in tournée per diffondere il messaggio di
libertà per l’Ucraina, indirizzato a tutto il Mondo.
Questo induce a lanciare una provocazione alle popolazioni dei nostri
tempi. Se lasciassimo governare il pianeta agli artisti, non sarebbe forse più
attuabile il concetto della pace universale?

They turn adrenalin into a definitely engaging community force, launching
their message of peace.
Gogol Bordello closed their summer tour in London on July 16th 2022 and
will be touring again in support of their new album, SOLIDARITINE
produced by Walter Schreifels and Eugene Hütz, this autumn starting on
October 20th 2022 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at the Mr. Smalls Theatre.
At their last concert with an Italian stage in Palmanova, Friuli-Venezia Giulia,
they put a powerful energy reflection into circulation, spreading the concept
that music is an expression that at the same time unites and translates the
demands of a people.
Theirs is a non-violent response to the winds of war blowing over Ukraine.
It is also a firm and heartfelt caress translated into notes, for all those
repressed feelings that everyone carries inside at this precise moment in
history of suffering.
And what better than music can give words to dismayed people who have
none; what can restore warmth in the division between Russian and
Ukrainian brothers and sisters, peoples, and beliefs?
Gogol Bordello have chosen the sky; its shape is that of a perfect human
being, the same as the sky has, and as the precious artists that they are, on
July 9th 2022, on the stage of a beautiful Piazza Grande, they confirmed
once again that they are an iconic band.
Azalea, organiser of the event, wisely chose to let an up-and-coming and
talented group, Dalyrium Bay, a folk-rock band formed in Friuli-Venezia
Giulia, open the live show.
The proposal turns out to be a winner, in fact the group involves and
enraptures. The genre they propose ranges across all classical, ethnic, and
folk styles (such as samba, swing, waltz, mazurka), mixing the most intense
and lively rhythms with rock and surf sounds.
By opening the Gogol Bordello concert, Dalyrium Bay achieves a perfect
musical synchrony, generating an artistic tsunami that it is fascinating to be
overwhelmed.
This union between one of the most original bands of the last 20 years and
the future promise of music builds bridges of trust for the City of Palmanova
and it is a sign of hope and unity to be sought in order to recreate culture
and dialogue.
The greatness of Gogol Bordello lies here and in their history: the band
members, who come from different places in Eastern Europe, as well as
Asia, are a sign of a desire for unity in response to division (Eugene Hütz,
vocalist, is Ukrainian and was born in Kiev, while Sergei Ryabcev, violinist
and second voice of the band, is Russian and was born in Gor’kij).
The band met on the streets of New York during the 1990s.
Within a short time, it honed its personal and extraordinary sonic identity.
The gypsy punk formula introduced itself to the World with the ep ‘East
Infection’, until with the first record, ‘Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike’,
they reached international stardom.
Since then, the members of the group, all united, have come a long way,
even going as far as singing and playing with Madonna and Goran Bregovic,
and now taking the stage in the name of peace. While the hand of the World
grips the gun, the hand of Gogol Bordello touches the instrument and, in
concert, aims at the heart of a wonderful audience.
It is like watching passages from a dream in which feelings, sounds, wine,
lips, and pleasures dance in the naturalness of bodies pecking over the
abyss of a summer that burns with fire and love.
Their music makes hearts and hands beat at an amplified frequency.
Violinist Sergei Ryabcev’s gaze manages to expand his deep essence and
energy so that it can be perceived from far away. It communicates that you
can chain a man, but you can never harness his thoughts and his destiny.
He is like a Magician who is sometimes and suddenly transparent on stage,
but this allows magic to be created through his violin.
Eugene Hütz’s eyes clearly let all the emotions and sufferings they would
like to manifest reach the audience, while he sings, he observes the sky,
with his hand he seems to indicate the flight of birds towards Kyiv.
This leading artist has an energy that manages to create a ripple effect and
cause impact in everyone who comes into contact with his talent.
The time is ripe for the World to hear and understand the uncomfortable
truth, the suffering of the Ukrainian people dragged into a total war.
Convinced that knowledge is born from love and the time we are living is
enough to make good use of it, the Gogol Bordello launch their effective and
powerful message, giving an incentive to join the ‘movement’ for a common
purpose: to be the rainbow that follows the storm.
War, however, is just a stone’s throw away and is a metaphor for the
universal conflict between opposites that governs the natural processes of a
change in the spirit of an individual or a nation, for good or ill.
The American band plays to stimulate feelings of brotherhood, loyalty and
sharing.
Thus, considering the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Les Claypool of Primus
and Eugene Hütz of Gogol Bordello have started to collaborate on a joint
release to raise support for the Ukrainian people.
This is made clear in the song ‘Zelensky: The Man With the Iron Balls’, the
proceeds of the sale of which will be donated to Nova Ukraine, a non-profit
organisation dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian
people.
Each performance of the ‘Solidaritine’ tour will be dedicated to them in the
name of the Ukraine’s battle for democracy.
Gogol Bordello is therefore on tour to spread the message of freedom for
Ukraine to the whole World.
This leads to a provocation to the people of our time. If we let artists rule the
planet, would the concept of universal peace not be more feasible?
